Choose The Right Flooring
Full-service design shop adds service and selection into the price tag.
After a long day away from our homes, we sometimes enter our homes, walk into our kitchens, and pour a glass of wine. Walking into the living room, we place the glass on an end-table and descend into the soft, deep pillows of a favorite couch. For at few moments at least, we remove ourselves from the hassles of everyday life and escape into relaxation.
Indeed, a great deal of emphasis is placed on comforting the body once we are stationary, but little attention is paid to our walking habits, or the floors beneath our feet. That’s where cork flooring, a relatively new trend in home decor, really performs. Not only is the material eco-friendly, cork floors are quiet, comfortable, warm and since they are softer than hardwoods, easy on the joints. You might say the more you walk on cork, the more that material helps melt stress away.
Cork flooring can be manufactured into planks that play off the cues of hardwood, yet are naturally resistant to fire, mold and mildew, and believe it or not, pests. Installations have proven durable and maintenance is on-par with traditional hardwood offerings.
“Sure, we sell corks floors, and so do other companies here on Long Island,” comments Glenn Alterac, president of Floor Decor of Rockville Centre. “But what we also have are professionals that want to earn your business. We invest in our customers and spend countless hours making them happy.”
As a full-service design shop, Alterac states that not only can customers find the cork flooring that fits their renovation, but area rugs, window treatments and artwork to complete the room. And, of course, ceramic tile and hardwoods for other rooms in the house.
“We can help you get the whole project done. Every one of our installers is licensed and insured, and passes a criminal background investigation. We don’t use undocumented workers, and give our customers the white glove service. Plus, we have exclusive products, and offer factory warranties and guarantee your satisfaction,” says Alterac. “These are services you just can’t get from other stores. We help customers carry their dollar further.”
